Have you tried those white noise machines that play soothing nature sounds to help you sleep? Sounds like rain, ocean waves, leaves rustling, etc. I don't have a white noise machine, but I used to listen to similar tapes, and it is very relaxing.

I do have a small version of the white noise machine--but it really doesn't help me.
I sleep with my fan. Actually, my kids sleep with fans as well--all year long. I tune in to the fan noise and I the only thing that can wake me up while the fan is going--is my kids. My son is a couple doors down from my bedroom and I can hear him crying any time during the night---but someone comes knocking on the door or even my bedroom window (I have weird neighbors..lol) I won't hear it. Bad thing about this though--if I am stuck any place without a fan--I can't sleep. I hear the whole world. Also, if the electricity goes out during the night--I wake up instantly and so don't my kids. |

You're addicted to the fan sweetvtmom!
What happenes if it ever breaks? Do you have a replacement? ![]() I can understand how it can be a problem when you travel and there is no fan in the hotel... I guess you could buy a small, portable one and take it with? |

I have a nature's sounds machine; love it, but I don't use it to sleep. I just listen to the radio when I go to bed. The sounds are great. I love the ocean, so hearing the waves takes me back to wonderful memories of actually being at the ocean.
